Decided to take a little solo day trip up to Georgetown, Silver Plume, and up Guanella Pass for fun this winter while I was in Colorado. I love these old mountain towns, so eery (especially in the winter gloom) and pretty. I started in Georgetown, just parked on a road near Main Street and started walking. Had to check out the area by the railroad, then grabbed lunch at Mountain Buzz (highly recommend). Then on to Silver Plume, a ghost town with an interesting history (see linked) just north of Georgetown that has a population of 166. I had to come here to check it out and see Dram Apothecary, a new bar + tasting room that opened up recently. It's such a unique little place, I loved it. Bought one of every flavor of the bitters, and a couple of teas, I couldn't resist. Ended my day with a drive up Guanella Pass just in time for sun set, which wasn't much of a sunset at all on account of how overcast it was, but it was still a beautiful drive. Lots of photos, it was hard to narrow it down!
